Emotion, joy and chilling out. These words summarize the spirit of the night where Lanxess celebrated with customers, partners, employees and suppliers the 100th anniversary of the invention of synthetic rubber, in 2009.

The “100 Years Concert” put together, in a perfect combination, two great reminders of Brazilian and German culture: Pixinguinha’s chorinho and Johann Sebastian Bach’s baroque music with the Bachiana Chamber Orchestra conducted by João Carlos Martins.

In addition to the orchestra itself, one of the highlights of the evening was the performance of tenor Jean William, just 21 years old. Student of the Bachiana Youth Orchestra, Jean William is one of the greatest talents of Brazilian classical music and thrilled the audience with his interpretation of Carinhoso and Rosa, two of Pixinguinha’s greatest hits.
