The history of Dançar Marketing Group is directly linked to the creation of Dançar Magazine – where does the company’s name come from. Dançar Magazine became a reality in June 1982 and made history as the first Latin American periodical to dedicate itself especially to dance. It remained for 10 years in activity bringing opinions, critiques and profiles of influential personalities from the dance world. During this time, more than 2 million copies were produced with more than 10,000 subscribers and distribution throughout Brazil, Latin America, the United States and Europe. With a commitment to disseminate dance and its aspects, Dançar Magazine created an exchange between the main arts centers in the country and everyone who was not able to reach that kind of information, enabling accessibility and transforming the cultural scene.
The company also had an important role in enabling connections between dance professionals from different parts of the country, including: Festival de Dança de Joinville, Encontro Nacional de Dança, Oficina Contemporânea da Bahia and Ciclo de Dança de Recife. During this period, it has been involved in tours of international companies such as Bolshoi Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Momix Group and independent Brazilian groups. It was from the experience acquired in the promotion and execution of those festivals and tours that the company began to expand its activities.
In 1987, Dançar Marketing started to develop and produce tailor-made projects in partnership with large companies. With Souza Cruz, Dançar Marketing was responsible for the commercial area and production of the brochure for the events Carlton Dance, Free Jazz Festival and Hollywood Rock.

Established in 1982, Dançar Marketing Produções (Dançar Marketing Productions) emerged with the challenge of creating Dançar Magazine. The recognition of its quality led the company to expand its performance for the implementation of some of the most important events in this area, promoting culture and disseminating professionals, artists and their productions. With the growth of its position in Brazil’s cultural scene, the company expanded its activities, becoming a curator and director of festivals, tours, exhibitions and tailor-made projects.
Gradually, the company held a prominent position in the country’s cultural scene participating in striking events such as Carlton Dance Festival, Hollywood Rock, Concertos de Vinólia and Free Jazz Festival.
The history of Dançar Marketing Comunicações (Dançar Marketing Communication) is directly linked to the beginning of the concept of cultural marketing in Brazil.
The company was pioneer in executing large international and national open air shows with free admission, reinforcing its commitment to democratization and cultural dissemination.
In this direction, the institution, founded in 1991, was able to bring major brands closer to the cultural universe and to conceive tailor-made projects for its clients, standing out in the national and international artistic scene.

Thus, in 2003 Dançar Comunidade (Dançar Community) was created, which became, in 2008, Instituto Dançar (Dançar Institute). Since 2001, DMKT Productions has centralized Dançar Marketing’s international operations. Initially, the international headquarters was established on 5th Avenue in New York, staying there until 2017, when it moved to Los Angeles. The American unit, with its curatorship team always aligned with international market trends, seeks and hires, with pioneering spirit and assertiveness, artists of the most varied styles and corporate events speakers, in addition to negotiating various exhibitions /collections with much more swiftness.
