Founded in 1982 by the publicist Pedro Bianco, Dançar Publishing emerged with the creation of Dançar Magazine – the first Brazilian publication dedicated to dance, which won prestige among critics and professionals in the field.
With a commitment to disseminate dance and its aspects, Dançar Publishing had a pioneering role, by enabling great meetings between professionals and amateurs of dance, not only in Brazil but also in the whole world, among which we can highlight: the creation of the Joinville Festival, Encontro Nacional de Dança (National Dance Meeting), Oficina Contemporânea da Bahia (Contemporary Workshop of Bahia) and Ciclo de Dança de Recife (Dance Cycle of Recife), besides the promotion of memorable tours of national and international companies.
The magazine worked for 10 years, bringing opinions, criticisms and profiles of influential personalities from the world of dance. During the period from 1982 to 1992, more than 2 million copies were produced, with over 10,000 subscribers and distribution throughout Brazil, Portugal and Latin America.
In 2013, for its historical record, the magazine became a digital platform, contributing as a research source and creative process of the current professionals of this segment.
The recognition of its quality led the company to expand its performance for the implementation of some of the most important events in this environment, promoting culture and disseminating professionals, artists and their productions.
With the growth of its representativeness in the cultural scene, the company expanded its activities, becoming curator and director of festivals, tours, exhibitions and tailor-made/proprietary projects. It created in Brazil the concept of sponsorship/co-sponsorships and tailor-made projects platforms, consolidating its activities with the company of cigarettes Souza Cruz and its projects Carlton Dance Festival, Free Jazz Festival and Hollywood Rock.
During this period, Dançar Marketing Production made feasible hundreds of sponsorships for various producers, creating a link between culture, entertainment and business institutions, occupying a prominent position in the country’s cultural scene.
Created in 1991 to meet the strong demand for the growth of the cultural and entertainment market in Brazil, Dance Marketing Communications is directly linked to the emergence from this concept in Brazil.
A pioneer in the market, the company was the first production of international and national shows in open spaces, with free entrance, reinforcing its commitment to democratization and cultural dissemination.
For over 10 years, Dance Marketing has carried out projects such as Avon Woman in Concert and Concertos de Vinólia, reaching more than 5 millions of people, bringing the brands Avon and Vinólia (Unilever) to have visibility as sponsors of these memorable concerts, that involved hundreds of artists nationals and internationals.
These accomplishments led Dance Marketing Communications to become the largest company to achieve more than 35 corporate entertainment projects for large companies and brands, such as Dupont Basic Sound, Amex Live Sound, Viagem Nestlé pela Literatura, IBM E-Festival, Criação Teatral Volkswagen, Samsung Best of Blues, among others, over its more than 37-year history.
Dançar Marketing group has all its projects and initiatives committed to social development, the democratization of culture and accessibility, considering arts and entertainment as powerful tools for transforming society.
Thus, in 2003 it was created Dançar Comunidade (Dançar Community), which shortly thereafter became into Instituto Dançar (Dançar Institute). In addition to being the concept creator and producer of social projects, the institute advises companies interested in benefiting the communities where they are based.
The Institute is also dedicated to organize events, which ticket sales are 100% destined to charities, such as Hospital Santa Marcelina and GRAAC.
Established in 2001, Dançar Marketing Estados Unidos is the American branch of Dançar Marketing Group. It centralizes all international operations, such as artist’s booking, project development and customer service outside Brazil.
Located in Los Angeles, the office is responsible for the creation, production and holding of corporate events, social marketing, institutional promotion and brand promotion. The company’s curriculum presents successful projects, from fundraising to customer service for corporate clients, planning and holding events in the main locations around the world and filming for television programs.
